Directions to Golden Grove

From London via M4:

Follow M4 to the end (Pont Abraham Services) and merge left via the roundabout onto the A48 sign posted Cross Hands.  At the Cross Hands roundabout take the 4th exit A476 to Llandeilo.  Follow this road for approximately 7 miles and take a sharp left onto the B4300. (DONOT TURN OFF at the first crossroads sign posted Golden Grove after 4 miles).  Follow directions below to the correct Beat.

From Midlands via M5:

Follow the M5 onto the M50 heading for Ross on Wye.  At the roundabout at the end of the M50 take the first exit onto the A40.  This will take you straight to Llandeilo via Abergavenny, Brecon and Llandovery. At the roundabout on the outskirts of Llandeilo take the first exit A483 through Llandeilo, over the river into the village of Ffairfach.  Turn right at the mini roundabout onto the A476 for Cross Hands.  After half a mile turn right onto the B4300.  See below for directions to the correct Beat.

From Pembroke via A40:

Follow the A40 from Pembroke via Haverfordwest through Carmarthen towards Llandeilo. 10 miles after leaving Carmarthen  turn right at the junction signposted Golden Grove 2 miles and  brown signs to  Aberglassney Gardens ¼ mile.  Follow the road over the River Towy.  If you are meeting at Cilsane  or  Ro Fawr see directions below.  If you are meeting at Glanyrafon carry on along this road to the cross roads and turn left  onto A4300.  You will find Glanyrafon Farm on the left after about 2 miles.  There is a sign for Glanyrafon Farm with a fish.  Follow the track down to the meeting point.

Directions to Beats

Glanyrafon Beat

The top Beat is Glanyrafon and runs from just downstream of Llandeilo Bridge SA19 6BN. The meeting point for here is usually by  Glanyrafon Farm,  Ffairfach,  Llandeilo SA19 6PF. Take the A483 road bridge south from Llandeilo over the river, and turn right in Ffairfach on the A476. After ½ mile turn right onto B4300. The turning to Glanyrafon Farm is rather hidden on your right after about 500 yards

Cilsane Beat

Cilsane is the next beat. To access this, take the B4300, as above, and continue for about 2 miles to a crossroads. Turn right towards Aberglasney. The meeting point is usually Cilsane Bridge, by Gelli Aur College, SA32 8NJ which you come to after 1 mile. The entrance to the beat is on your right along the old railway.

Upper and Lower Ro Fawr

The meeting point is Cilsane Bridge, SA 32 8NJ as per above. Access is either along the old railway (or alternatively by parking at the entrance to Ro Fawr Farm, Golden Grove, SA32 8RP) and crossing the river.
